Description

A bit too southerly for us northern observers to do justice to, the Cat's Paw nebula is an emission nebula near the stinger of Scorpius. It lies 5.5K light years distant and spans roughly 320 light years.

I captured and processed this object while visiting the TAAA CAC dark site in AZ. The image was created in homage to a dear friend and colleague at ESO who is terminally cat crazy! I enjoyed working every minute of this image remembering good times in Hawaii, Munich and at Paranal. I hope you enjoy the image Paola!
